Everyone has a story to tell.
When our story resonates with other people they can feel a connection and become potential clients or customers. When customers buy products or services it isn’t simply because of a clever slogan, a well-designed logo or an arty photograph. These may all help to attract attention but if our story doesn't feel relevant to the reader, they will simply admire the quality of the design and move on.

How many times have we heard that people don't buy products or services because of what they do? The way products and services make us feel is more important to us. The same is true of the story. Telling the story, communicating at an emotional level is, therefore, an important ability for anybody who wants to sell anything. In other words, almost everybody.
The next time you are networking or listening to a presentation, try paying attention to the stories that people are telling and consider how they make you feel. It could give you a new perspective on how you tell your own story in your next presentation.
